She uses her extensive bilingual, bicultural, psychodramatic and trial skills to help lawyers and the Courts in bringing fairness to those seeking justice.

Being a Social Worker at the El Paso Cancer Treatment Center inspired Pat to become a lawyer when she experienced cancer patients’ lack of a meaningful voice in the healthcare community. Many were Spanish-speakers who were lost in a world they couldn’t comprehend. Realizing she had the heart to understand and advocate for people, she needed to empower herself to be a voice for those who were voiceless in all arenas. With the support of her husband, Gilbert, and her three-year old son, Michael, she uprooted the family to attend Texas Tech Law School in Lubbock, Texas. A few years after law school, Pat became a partner in the Dallas firm of Ferrer, Montes, Poirot, and Eisenbraun, one of a handful of woman-named partners in the Dallas metroplex. She served as the President of the Mexican-American Bar Association and President of the Mexican-American Business and Professional Women of Dallas. In 1997 Pat opened up the Montes Law Firm in Arlington, Texas, specializing in civil trial law and trial consulting. Although born in El Paso, Texas, Pat lived her first 11 years in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. When her father died, her mom, Maria Eva, brought her six children to the United States. Being in a different country and not being able to speak the language instilled in Pat an inspiration to be heard. Pat got her survivor spirit and the courage to persevere when she saw her mother toil, cleaning other people’s homes to make ends meet. Maria Eva Salcido was a firm believer in the value of education and the idea that a person can succeed at anything. Pat knew she wanted to rise to her potential so that she too could be an example of fortitude and strength first for her siblings, then for her son and those around her.

Pat is now dedicated to representing and obtaining justice for individuals and protecting the rights of the poor, the injured, the voiceless, and the defenseless. She is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, an honor held only by 3% of lawyers who practice Personal Injury Law in Texas. She is also a graduate of Gerry Spence’s Trial Lawyer’s College, selected from national lawyer applicants to undergo a concentrated jury trial program focusing on self-awareness for the purpose of ethically and nobly championing the cause of the injured and the forgotten and has served as a staff member.

Pat received the Brillante Award from the Texas Hispanic Magazine for being one of the 75 Most Influential Hispanic Leaders of Texas, the Business Woman of the Year Award from the Mexican-American Business and Professional Women, and the Business Woman of the Year from the Latina Business and Professional Women of Dallas. In 2009, she was awarded the Achievements in Diversity Award from the Texas Trial Lawyers Association and the 2011 Dallas Women Lawyers Association Louise B. Raggio Award.

Pat is a member of the State Bar College, Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Dallas Trial Lawyers Association, Tarrant County Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice. She has served as a Dallas Bar Association Board of Directors as well. Pat was co-founder and has held the office of Chairwoman of the Arlington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Her memberships, amongst others, have included the Arlington Sunrise Rotary Club, Mi Escuelita, and the Arlington Hispanic Advisory Council. Pat is the President of Pa`ti Productions, a company focusing on bilingual/bicultural and motivational/self-esteem products, and is currently obtaining a post-graduate certification in Psychodrama.   Read Less
